About Sea Diamond

Designed by the renowned naval architect Philip Rhodes and custom built by the esteemed German yard Abeking & Rasmussen in 1956, Sea Diamond is a true classic of the golden era of yachting. Graceful, purposeful, and impeccably proportioned, she represents a time when yachts were designed not to impress loudly, but to endure.

Over the decades, Sea Diamond has earned a reputation as a well‑known and deeply respected vessel—one that turns heads quietly wherever she goes. Her history is rich not only in craftsmanship, but in company. Over the course of her life, Sea Diamond has hosted an extraordinary and storied guest list, said to include The Beatles, The Queen, and Elvis Presley—a reflection of her standing as a social yacht of rare pedigree.

Meticulously maintained throughout her lifetime, Sea Diamond remains in exceptional condition. A major refit undertaken between 2001 and 2004 saw the yacht comprehensively rebuilt from the inside out by master craftsmen, with every detail executed in keeping with her original design and historical character. This refit included a completely new interior, a full new teak deck, modernized electrical systems, and new generators—bringing contemporary reliability to a timeless platform. Further enhancements in 2010, including new furnishings and interior fittings, reinforced her as‑new condition.

Her interior is maritime elegance personified. Rich, polished teak, raised paneling, high‑gloss finishes, and classic holly‑and‑teak cabin soles create an atmosphere that is both warm and unmistakably refined. Fine leathers and carefully selected marbles complete a space that feels authentic, confident, and quietly luxurious—never overworked, never overstated.

Sea Diamond offers a thoughtful and highly functional layout for both private and charter use. The upper saloon features leather seating, a small dining table, a writing desk, and discreetly integrated entertainment. Below, the main saloon opens into a more formal dining space to port, with lounge seating and a wet bar to starboard, seamlessly connected to the galley for effortless service. Guest accommodation comprises three staterooms for up to six guests, including a full‑beam owner’s cabin with ensuite, and two additional guest cabins—one twin and one double—sharing a well‑appointed bathroom.

Above, the pilothouse combines traditional command with comfort, featuring a curved leather settee and table alongside the helm. Outside, Sea Diamond’s full teak decks, low open bulwarks, and elegant profile provide multiple outdoor spaces for relaxation, dining, and quiet observation. Her classic all‑wood ketch rig, complemented by a new main mast and mizzen installed in 2009 and Sperry sails, reinforces her heritage while delivering dependable sailing performance.

Powered by twin GM Detroit Diesel 6V71 engines, Sea Diamond cruises comfortably at nine knots, with a range of approximately 2,400 nautical miles, offering both capability and composure over distance.

Today, Sea Diamond stands as more than a yacht. She is a living piece of yachting history—one that blends the best of old and new, elegance and intent, legacy and relevance. To step aboard is to reconnect with a more deliberate, more refined way of being at sea.
